Our chambray is lightweight, finely mottled, and wonderfully versatile – perfect for airy garments with a classic look!
FEATURES:
Chambray is a woven fabric made of cotton or linen that looks similar to denim at first glance – but is much lighter and softer. It’s woven in a plain weave using colored warp threads (typically blue) and white weft threads. This creates the characteristic mottled, slightly shimmering texture. Chambray is breathable, skin-friendly, and pleasantly cool to wear – perfect for summer clothing.
SEWING INSTRUCTIONS:
Chambray is easy to sew – use a universal needle (size 70–80) and cotton thread. The fabric edges are stable, but unfinished edges should be serged or finished with a zigzag stitch. A rotary cutter works well for clean cuts. Pre-washing is recommended, as chambray may shrink slightly.
APPLICATIONS:
Ideal for shirts, blouses, dresses, skirts, tunics, shorts, or lightweight trousers. Also great for baby and children’s clothing or accessories like scarves and lightweight bags. The fabric combines a relaxed denim look with summer-ready lightness.
CARE:
Washable at 30–40 °C on a gentle cycle. Air-dry if possible. Iron at medium heat – for darker colors, iron on the reverse. Avoid fabric softener to protect the fibers.
Please note: Due to individual screen settings, actual fabric colors may differ slightly from those shown in the images.
