Canvas - a sturdy and versatile fabric, perfect for a range of projects from home decor to long-lasting garments!
FEATURES:
Canvas is a durable, tightly woven fabric known for its strength and longevity. Typically made from cotton or a cotton blend, it offers excellent wear resistance. Despite its strength, canvas has a relatively smooth surface, making it comfortable to wear and use.
SEWING TIP:
When sewing canvas, we recommend using a sturdy universal or denim needle. Due to its density and strength, canvas can be difficult to pierce, so a stronger needle is necessary. We also recommend washing the fabric before sewing to prevent it from shrinking later on.
APPLICATION:
Canvas is an extremely versatile fabric with a wide range of applications.
In the apparel sector, canvas is perfect for sturdy garments like work clothes, jackets, trousers, and overalls. It's also a popular choice for accessories like bags, backpacks, and hats that need to withstand higher wear and tear.
Additionally, canvas is often used for home decoration projects such as curtains, upholstery, throws, and even wall art. Its strength and durability make it the ideal choice for outdoor furniture and gear like tents, awnings, and boat covers.
CARE:
We recommend washing canvas at 30 degrees in the machine and air drying. Iron the fabric at a medium temperature.
